The most common entry point into a major studio is often through an internship or an entry-level Production Assistant (PA) role. While the PA role is administrative, focusing on scheduling, note-taking, and tracking assets, it provides invaluable, direct exposure to the full studio pipeline, from the Director’s meetings to the Renderer’s queue. Similarly, an internship provides targeted, supervised experience in a specific department.

We emphasize that students should value the learning and networking potential of these entry-level positions above all else. A successful PA or intern demonstrates professionalism, clear communication, organizational excellence, and a positive, teachable attitude. These roles are the fastest way to get your foot in the door, meet key decision-makers, and eventually transition into an artistic role within the same studio.
